The Cercis does not require a lot of maintenance, but here are some tips to keep your Cercis as happy as possible.
Positioning: Cercis thrives best in open ground, but can also be kept in a pot. In pot it needs a bit more care, while in open ground you can just let it go. The Cercis likes a sunny or partly shady spot. Be careful not to place it in a very windy spot.
Watering: Water regularly when in pot. When in open ground water regularly until established.
Pruning: Pruning can be done to keep the Cercis a little smaller, or to keep it in a nice shape. Pruning can be done all year round, but can be done best in summer or winter.
Nutrition: Some basic nutrition can be given to the plant to encourage growth. In open ground this is not necessary, but in pot it is advisable to do it each year in Spring.
